I've built two of these for Joe Walker. I opted to place a bulkhead directly behind the two front canalizer mounting screws. It significantly stiffens the canalizer mounting saddle and minimizes the twist that can occur when one tries to twist the canalizer out of parallel with the wing.

The battery tray installation is very similar to the IMMORTAL.
With all the extras, frudder and flaps servos, reinforcement, the plane completed and ready to fly comes at 4820 g with 5000 10S Dualsky Batteries and wheels pants (not on the pics).
The CG is at 180 mm from the leading edge for the maiden flight.....

First flights of the SUPER FANTASISTA
With the National this week end, we had not too much time to evaluate the plane, but it's very encouraging :
Climb straight, no need to adjust the engine ( wing incidence is not adjustable)
Need a 2% to elev mixing in the downline
Knife edge don't apparently need mixing with the ailerons, and CG seems to be OK .
More testing next week...

So happy with the SUPER FANTASISTA matching his flying style, Fred ordered another one from BJ CRAFT...
Arrived safely in a stronger plywood box.
Engine will be a Plettenberg and radio a WC FUTABA T18 MZ.

Hi,
Is that 60A Emcotec arming switch large enough for the motor/prop combination?
Also, what is the heat sink device sitting up on the fuselage side under the canopy rail?
Thanks, I learn something every time I look at a new picture of your builds...

Thanks for the comment Itc
We had no problems using this Emcotec arming switch after more than 200 flights.
What you ask for is an Emcotec DPSI Micro DualBat 5.9/7.2V dual power supply.
It exist too a DPSI Micro Single Bat 5.9/7.2V ( picture), a DPSI Micro DualBat 5.9/7.2V F3A Edition dual power supply and a DPSI Micro Single Bat 5.9/7.2V F3A Edition.

Thank you for the information
I am a bit concerned at the 60A switch as I think it is only rated for 8s, not 10s, if I’m looking at the right one
That would mean you are potentially exceeding MOSFET ratings .

I have always used Jeti DSM-10 or DSM-ESC; if I can get one here in the USA (if not just order it from RS), I’d like to try the Emcotec unit for my receiver power in my next plane.

Hi Itc
I think you don't look at the same product.
The one we are using is for 6 to 16 S .....70 Volts, and with a nominal 60 A and 120 max, it's enough for F3A.

You're correct, I didn't know there were 2 60A versions; 8S and 16S
Thanks again

Does anyone know the recommended / starting balance point on the Fantasista? Using F3A Unlimited new alum removable battery tray and there is not much adjustment range after you get it installed.

Thanks in advance
John

185 mm from leading edge is a good starting point.

Hello Joe,
If you are using full stab, try 12 mm to up and 15 mm to down.

On this new SP FANTASISTA the stock landing gear has been replaced by a Falcon one.

The prop installed is a 21, so no problem to go to a 22.

Following the recommendations, the 90 ESC has been replaced too by a 135.

J-P, I see your new Jeti is an Opto 135. Very wise decision.

My buddy Fred had just completed his second SUPER FANTASISTA when he had an incident home, in France, and had half a stab badly damaged ....

5 days later, a nice wooden box arrived by EMS, with a full stab ....

Perfect packaging and service by B.J Craft

Fitting is perfect !!

THANK YOU B.J.

FRED & JP

Hello I am a friend of fred and JP.
I live in the north of France (near Lille, 220 KM from Paris)
Fred gave me a lot of advice on how to build the plane .
I just finished my super fantasista.
I made 30 flights with the super Fantasista and it's the best plane I've had so far.
For the motorization I chose a Q80 14XS senstrol.
Currently I am optimizing the ¨mode RPM and torque of the senstrol master.

Hello,
the 2019 competition season is now over.
During the French F3A 2019 championships I finished fourth in the Natinal B category.
I am very happy to have achieved this result this year with my new aircraft. (I had to build it, adjust it, and learn the program)
My super FANTASISTA is now perfectly tuned... it's really a great plane.
For the French championships I had motorized it with a normal Q80.
For the 2020 season I powered it with a Q80 senstrol which is now completely optimized (difficult to adjust and optimize)
I made 170 flights with my Fantasista this year.
My friend fred with his super fantasista finished tenth in the international category.
He is also very happy with his aircraft and its performance.
The fantasita is currently one of the best aircraft
