Very nice! Kinda like going back to 1975 or so. Long transmitter antenna and all!

"40"? I like yelling out my channel before turning on my radio, just in case. Safety first.

Congratulation on the maiden flights. Please post an update on how it flies once you have it dialed in to your liking.
Which one of your fleet is next to maiden? Of like minds - " I only use 72 mhz.........always have always will " Period

I picked up this old Komet the other day from a friend that knew I would save it. Of course I stripped everything out of it and set it up with new engine, radio, mount, tank, and all rods. (See below)

I may take it out today. I also have this Voodoo that I am giving to a flying buddy, and hope to maiden today also, I think these 2 are next. I have 16 maidens to go for this year……..

Both are classics but I sure do like that Mustang..
What engine do you have in it..

My good friend, and the person that was my instructor to fly RC had a Comet back in the 80's. I got to fly it a couple times. That was a smiooth flying airplane that stayed where you put it.

How do you think you will prop the 90 in the VODOO?
I run 15X6 on my ST 90's on planes where I want "Thrust". Works great for me and my home brew FAI fuel.

Ya think it would pull a 13 X 10 APC pattern prop?
I ask, mostly because I recently came across a couple of used 60 sized "PROPPED JETS". One of which is a Great Planes Patriot, I think. And, I am considering putting Super Tiger 90's in them and see how fast they will fly.. Been a long time since I had a "FAST" airplane..

I have it propped with an APC 14-6. That or a 14-7 is almost a perfect prop for sport flying on that engine.
I'd try a 13-9 or 13-10 sure it would give me a little more on the top.
I flew a patriot for years with a ys 60 FR and I propped it at 11-10, 11-11 and it was pretty fast.
prop clearance will be your biggest concern....................

After a little inspection and me picking up a nib Simco kit, the plane I thought was a komet is actually its predecessor the Simco. This plane came from the old Sig engineering department so I’m not completely shocked, at any rate it’s going flying soon, probably hasn’t been in the air in 50 years………
