C G for Aviation Design 1/9 Rafael
I need the CG for an Avation Design 1/9 Rafael. I have misplaced (lost) my manual.
If no one has the location, a location by percent on someone else's Rafael with the wing root measurement will get me close.
The plane is finished, gear and servos installed, except for final layout, and I'm trying to figure out fuel tanks and locations.
Thanks for any help,
John

Thank you.
My experience has all been positive with Aviation Design. The Rafale I have is no longer made, but AD still pulled a canopy for me last year.
As it turns out not an hour after my post I discovered the safe place I had stored the information. So now all I have to do is figure how to get a tank over the CG.

That brings back memories.
I had one as my first jet in about 1999. Started life as OS.91 DF/ Ramtec, but I could never get enough thrust out of it to make it fly. Converted it to Jetcat P80 power in about 2002 and cut my turbine teeth on it for a while. It had a hard life and in the end I sold it on and never looked back.

Paul,
Indeed, this was originally designed for a 91 size ducted fan. Saw a turbine conversion at Florida Jets a few years ago and saw his fuel tank was just in front of the forward gear former. I saw another picture recently that had a Sullivan 12 oz tank mounted to the rear of the gear. Do you perhaps remember what you had in there for fuel tanks and how they were arranged?

John,
Amazingly, Google found a post of mine on RCU from back in 2004.

Looks like I made some custom tanks to go to the rear of the landing gear plus a 24oz Dubro tank up front for a total of 72oz. Not much to feed a thirsty P80.
Good luck. Old-school jet flying - the good old days!!

I have the small aviation design rafale before and maybe I still have the manual for her , the cg is very forward on all the rafale I have the FeiBao and BVM almost identical as proportional to the size and I did video for seating the smaller one on YouTube with some flying and the one I have is posted on the jetjoe side as the jj1400 demo jet this is a hot rod flying jet very fast and small.
