Last year I sent a PM to Paco and said, Hey, Greg, Martin was generous enough to invite me into his fusion project (and the cool stuff in there will keep me busy for a long while) So how about if I print us a couple of CCKW kits and you put them both together, one for you, one for me. He was up for it and it turned out to be a pretty fun project and we worked together, hunting down stuff like headlights, material for canvass, rope, extra parts like jerry cans, Greg has lots of cool decals and he picked us up some very cool drivers and over time it all came together and today I got the truck back from Greg. He did a top notch job on this thing and all that's left is to install the electronics, which are all on hand, and repair the shipping damage. The hoops that hold up the canvass top all snapped off at the glue joint, but that's a very easy fix. I'll wait until I get the rest sorted before making the repairs, just for ease of access. The photo with the top is the truck in Colorado, before the contributions of the USPS, and the one without is here in Detroit.

Once it's running I'll do video. Thanks again to Greg for the excellent work and of course to Martin, who made it all possible. And you know, I have other truck kits waiting, like the Diamond T wrecker and the 6x6 WC62, all thanks to Martin. He's one helluva designer and when he was still an ex-pat he was here in Detroit so that makes him a home-boy so maybe that's why he looks out for me so well. If you wanna build a truck let me know and we'll see what we can do. If anyone wants to do a CCKW or a WC51 I might be willing to print you one, you can PM me if you're interested.

Those are some AWESOME Trucks Guys... Very Cool

Thanks guys. It was fun to build them. I can't wait to see Gary's in a movie driving around. Here is the one I got to keep.
#854
And I'm working on a Ben Hur trailer to pull behind it...

Here is a movie I made as an owners manual for Gary's CCKW. I'm totally bummed the hoops broke off in shipping, but it will be an easy fix to repair it.

The Silver Lining to that cloud is that having the Hoops off will make it much, much easier to install all the electronics and the sound system. I'll wait until I have the thing completely finished before I reattach the Hoops and the canvas top, and I think I'm going to pin the hoops for Extra Strength.
Again, I think Greg did a really excellent job on this truck and I'm very, very pleased.
Now I need my next victim for a truck project. So who wants to build two trucks and keep one?

You have to pin the hoops on these things, otherwise they will break off as soon as you so much as sneeze on them, I used 1mm steel wire about 1' long on all of mine.

I did send it insured, so if you want to Gary, you can make a claim for damages, and take yourself out to dinner.

I was keeping it a secret so it would be a surprise. Thanks Gary.

you will need a couple of 2x5x2.5 ball bearings, a pair of WPL leaf springs and some 2mm steel rod (about 110mm long off the top of my head), plus a couple of M2.5x12 machine screws for the axle assembly.
#865
Thanks. I already butchered a WPL axle down so it looks close to the real thing. I'd post a picture, but the trailer is in Colorado, and I am in California right now. Next week I can.

I'm willing to have a crack at the one ton. Some of it I'll try on the resin printer, like parts of the front wheel and the trash cans. Of course, I'll have to get off my lazy butt so don't expect to be blinded by my speed.
And I haven't forgotten the ambulance, Paco, another case of my blinding speed, eh?

Well, I don't need the trash cans, but I've been searching for that front wheel for a while now, quite unsuccessfully. No hurry on the ambulance Gary, you know how long it takes me to build something. I can be as slow as molasses on a cold night. I'm in this for the fun, so whenever it happens is fine with me. Just being included in this 3d printed truck program is a gift, so you will never hear me complain.
#868
You don't need any of the gubbins inside the trailer - I'd just dumped those bits into the assembly to get a sense of size as I was working off photo's of a typical load out for a headquaters section kitchen truck and trailer.

I think the can and lid are already split into seperate bodies - the masters will be in the Repair Yard folder with all of the other field kitchen stuff
