As the cowl is rather large, I'm going to install a DLE111 instead of the EME 70. Looks like it should fit without any holes needed to be cut into the cowl.

As long as structurally it can handle the extra couple of pounds.
The TopRC gear look pretty good "Beefy" the air piston a bit small though.

A good source for a scale FW prop.

Tim;
Thanks for the link for the prop; I ordered one and 2 days later it was at my door; VERY NICE; it should work great with my Zenoah Gt-80 and it looks very scale.
Does anyone know if there was any type of printing on the full size prop for the Luftwaffe aircraft props?

You will all have a great retract option for this aircraft soon.

Looks like it might be challenging to get gear doors to fit.

Test fitted the DLE 111 before cleanup. Perfect fit but needed to be spaced out about 1/2 an inch. Sparkplugs fit inside the cowl with no need for any holes. I did a quick test balance and found it's still tail heavy even with this heavier engine. So it's either lead or something useful so I'm going to install an autostarter to the DLE 111.

Received a better size swastika.

Don’t know what happened to my last post, will try again. I received my FW190 with TopRC retracts last week and have a question. After installing the tail wheel retract assembly and getting the pull-pull done, I have an issue. The cables are tight and the steering works great when the gear is down. As you try to retract the tail wheel, instead of the cables relaxing, the geomitry of the assembly try’s to tighten the cables and will not let it retract. Has any one else seen this and do you have a solution? Thanks.

Drill two holes just below the retract about an inch apart. Install yellow nyrod as a guide. Adjust the tension of the wires so it is taunt when the retract is full down. It should then be slightly loose when retracted.

Or use springs.

Just another word of warning about the TopRC tail wheel. If you install the retract as shown in the on line “manual” the part that the pull pull lines connect to (can’t remember what it’s called) will hit the air line and restrict how far it will retract. My solution was to face the air line aft after doing some relief work with my trusty Drumel to create space for the air line. I don’t want to sound like a complainer because the airplane is truly assume. Have been flying to TopRC Zero with a FG84 for over a year and hope this flys as good as my Zero. So far the quality has been first class. I can’t believe how great all the hinge points have lined up. Sure wish electric retracts had been an option as I have not done air in years. Got my Saito FG90R3 installed with Keleo exhaust. Very slight mod to the corners of the firewall and a cut out for the carb was all that was needed.

Dave N,
thanks for the solution to my tail wheel retract issue. I was able to raise the exit holes 1/2” above the forward mounting bracket as you suggested and it works perfect.

Thanks again,
John.

We are actually using our 1/4 Scale FW-190 Retracts for this plane.
They used really long struts just like the Full Scale.
We made a slight Modification to the side plates to make them fit the plane better.
We are starting to ship them this afternoon
Better get your orders in now while we still have a few in stock.

Thanks Darrell. Just ordered the plane, and your retracts!
Are you making a unique set of wheels and tires for this plane? I have your retracts and wheels on my ESM Bf 109.Just wondering if you recommend the same wheel.

Yes, We are making a Scale 6" FW-190 Wheel just like our 5-1/4" Version.
Should be able to ship the New Wheels out late next month.

I'm already looking at getting them for mine and at callies graphics for the Priller liverey.
Already have what I need to make the cockpit canopy open and close.
I will be interested to see how to make the canopy slide. How detailed is the cockpit kit?
