A bit of fun with a Tiger

Yesterday was a fun day for me.

My 80 year old Uncle visited me from Ohio. Uncle Bobby once took me to the flying field when I was 6 years old to watch him fly a radio controlled model airplane....

My Tiger was scratch built to fit a Magnum 91 fs that was laying around the shop. I sized it right between the Tiger 60 and Tiger 120. The wingspan is 76", just a bit larger than the Tiger 60's 70"...

Not exactly, but close. I just scratch built a Tiger, sized for my Magnum 91fs. Span is 76" instead of 70" on the Tiger 60. I made a few changes after reading this whole thread about the Tiger Club....

I would imagine that there is nothing purest about having two pounds of lead in the nose… Everything has room for improvement in design.

Not sure, but I would bet that 20 years ago the whole Tiger...

Hairy, I scratch built a 76" Tiger this summer, after reading a bit about the Tigers in this thread. After reading that they usually come out tail heavy, I simply lengthen the nose about 1.5 inches....

Your balsa canopy came out looking very nice. I'm sure that was easier and cheaper than finding a plastic canopy. Good luck with your test flights.

Another new Tiger is finished and ready for breaking in the Magnum 90FS engine. This one is one-of-a-kind size wise. Specs: 76" span. 13.5 cord. 14.6 oz/sq. wing loading. Should be a great flier....

Almost finished with the build of the Tiger 90....

Almost finished with the build of the Tiger 90. Just a few more details and then it is ready to cover. It is starting to look like an airplane, and really looking forward to flying my first Tiger.
