She's big @ 89" wingspan. Wish they would offer the option of Air Retracts. And yes, the wheels are $90 each (i.e. $180 for the pair).

While I would tend to agree with you the reality is that it takes time and serious $$$$ to offer a plane in this size. Until Obama spreads some Social Justice on the RC world Horizon needs to sell planes and make a reasonable profit to stay in business.

Just my 2 cents

They just came out with a gorgeous DHC-2 Beaver and the Blanik glider.

I'd say they have a good spread

ESM have come out with much more, and they are much smaller, its just when it comes to fighters, and warplanes in general, its same old same old, but, as i have said, it looks great, it will apeal to thiose who can afford it, if it has sequenced doors etc, it will be a step forward from other artfs of this fighter,

I personally think this is a great offering and may prove to be the best option for a P51 guy like me. A good following to the Corsair. Option of choosing your own gear is nice. Yes, on the DA 85 and I am looking for a home for the Kolm IL-100. There are some great photo's out there but I haven'e seen the plane is person yet or the firewall area. I believe they have a win on there hands.
Yes, some are tired of P51's but there are other offerings for unusual planes. There are many I like too. It's a big investment to bring a new plane to market - they seem to be complete in design. Lets face it, the P51 has always been a fun plane that flies well. Just like the corsair.
I would LOVE to see a P38 offered. I somehow doubt I ever will. Surprise me HH LOL
They just released a Pitts we've been asking for in the UMX size. and pre-sales are through the roof in just a couple of days (including me). So they DO listen. But, it's still a business and the dollars have to line up.

Suppose you are a manufacturer and you make a plane that say 3 percent would buy. Maybe even less. Or you make a plane that lots more would fly. Let's not forget you really want to stay in business what's the simple choice?

Yes, I would like to see a P38 by Horizon or Top Flite, but the market is probably to small.

Well I think the P 51 Mustang is popular and not for without a good reason. it is probably the most awesome warbird ever hands-down. Of course that's opinionated but I would liken it to that of a superhero how can you go wrong flying the superhero of warbirds in 60cc ARF goodness? Sure there are other models out there but then you can get tired of just about anything and that's not limited to our hobby. It's for sure not a cheap model. That alone is going to be enough exclusivity for me, and if I see another guy at the field with the same model then hey even more cool, share notes. Maybe silly to say but I know one thing I'm going to look good taking it out of my grocery getter LOL. As for the Kolm IL-100, this new Mustang is larger than the Aeroworks or Top-flight renditions of the mustang but I would be probably looking at the composite ARF mustang for such a premium motor.

I liked what I saw in Toledo.
It even looked like the fuse side walls were ever so slightly curved not flat like the TF version.
The stab looks like its located close to the scale location as well.
Another neat aspect is the 3 piece wing, kinda like the old Byron kits with the outer panels removable leaving the center section with the landing gear intact on the plane. I like that.
The only downside for me is, its already pocket hinged so changing up the color scheme could prove to be difficult.

Dave

update; good to hear that the control surfaces are removable, kudo's to Hangar 9

I wonder if this spinner is a pre-cut 2 blade like most of them are. Just don't provide a spinner and let us get our own. I'll be awaiting all the pictures of this plane with a wood 2 blade hanging out of the spinner.

Don't see that as a problem with a subject where the original had a 4 blade prop. The pre-cut slots will be in the right place, just cut another 2. Maybe a valid point for subjects where the original had a 3 blade prop. It's not that long ago that you would have had to hunt around to try and find a spinner the right size and shape for lots of $$$

Its funny you mentioned that.
I'm already thinking that if I buy the plane, I would rework the covering to my liking
and will probably be able to sell the stock spinner as a replacement to someone at a pretty good price just because
they are pretty costly.
Its an opportunity to change things up at little or no expense.

Dave

p.s. This scheme would actually work with the stock spinner just as Boltman mentioned by just turning it into a 4 blade spinner.

Politics do not belong in RCU. I believe it's a rule.
