Default NEW Legend Models VQ 79.5" 30cc F8F Bearcat!

Anyone noticed there is a new Bearcat on the market at JB Hobbies? Mine should be here thursday! Stock just came in this past weekend. Excited to get started! DLE35RA is on its way as well. Seen a review on their Dauntless, it looked really cool, so cant wait to see the F8F!

Ill post up more pics and a build when I receive it.

If it is as good as the Dauntless it will be a winner for sure!

Looks like decent quality for the price. Reminds of the Hangar 9 P-47 construction. What's your plan for retracts?

I hope not. The H9 P-47 wasn't a very good plane for me. I ended up returning mine for a refund, too many problems.
I have a NIB electric motor and mount that's recommended for this plane...I guess I'll wait and see how the reviews look and then decide.

JohnVH,

Could I request that you give the diameter of the firewall, the depth of the cowl, and how far the engine is supposed to project forward of the firewall?

Thanks for all the bother!

Hate to be a PIA but while you have the tape measure out could make some measurements on the retracts. Strut length and mounting plate dimensions would be nice to know. Also, are they 85 degree type retracts? Since retracts tend to be one of the weakest links in most of these ARFs I'm just thinking ahead about alternatives.

Link to mfg webpage and manual pdf

http://www.vqmodel.com/NewVQModel_20...ize_ep-gp.html

Neat single servo driven inner doors

Interesting note on last page to only clean plane with kerosene to keep covering from fading?
Ive never cleaned a plane with kerosene before ... Just used It as fuel for turbines!

instructions show electric install. Curious how large a 10s pack I could fit up front ... Assuming it is naturally tail heavy and avoiding adding lead at all costs.

Just reviewed the assembly manual. Couldn't find any reference to how far the engine should project forward of the firewall. Anybody else see it?

90 degree

8-3/8" top of strut to bottom where axle goes in

mounting plate is 2"w x 2-1/4"long

Large firewall. If the plane needs noseweight, I wonder if a 55cc engine might fit???????

That's why I'm thinking Zenoah G38. I had a G38 in a Hangar 9 P-47 @ 19.5lbs and it was a good combination
