Kawasaki TG33
Hi all,
I have just converted a TG33 from kawasaki, done in 3h, very simple, it turn a 15x6 at around 8000, the engine weight is around 2kg, heavy !
It pulls a coroplast 1.80m trainer form my design, 6.4kg, yes even with only 1.2hp @ 6500rpm
Usually it fly with a magnum xl 75 and a 13x7, 4.5kg...
To get a correct cg I move the wing and I have to say it works

For sure I could
But I should spend money and time with an electronic ignition , and to be honest a rccgf engine will cost just a few more with a better result for at least 1kg less and 1hp more ... with less fun.
I also love to show how well a piece of junk steel modified with a grinder and a drill on my bench can make a nice prop hub.

Welcome
Good morning
Very nice work.
Good performance on the plane.
Sharp fingers to flight and modify engine.
I have converted a Mitsubishi 26cc Chinese clone, in this forum I posted the photos.
I am building a Taylorcraft for the 26cc
Show your prop hub in photos please.
If you open the muffler, one hole of 1/4 inch in the muffler help a lot. From chainsaw forum, Arboristsite this advise.
Also a bigger diameter prop to slow rpm?.
Happy landings

Comparison
Hello
Compare your exhaust with an exhaust of Rcgf engine.
Diameter of exhaust tube, to breathing properly, cheap mods and big gains, may be need retune needle.

Prop hub
Hello
Finally enlarged photos and can see your prop hub.
Ingenuity and fine tune in the hub.
My best wishes for this combo.

Yes that's just a piece of 5mm steel plate, hold by to screws in place of the clutch threads, and a 8mm screw in the middle with a nylon nut.
The only major problem of those kawasaki engines is the tk1 carburetor with only one unique setting screw... I should make an adaptator to put a walbro.
About the silencer, it is even quieter than a saito glow 4st, I prefer to keep my engine under the authorized max 92db in my club

I finally put the gas tank form the tg33 in the fuse, and finally the engine runs good even better without the red carb cover, I am sure it can turn a bigger prop.
But as it runs good and the plane fly nicelly, I prefer to don't do anything, fair enought

Very good
If the engine performs well, don't touch, enjoy.
Noise limit is a barrier for performance gain, in cheap elements, but is a good Sunday flier.
Clean fuel, godd oil ratio and enjoy.

Finally the plane has crashed because of the elevator clevis.
The crankshaft was bent, I was able to fix it with a hammer and my eyes.
The nose plane was easily fixed too, coroplast, pine wood and superglue !
3 flights this morning, with a 14x8 prop, perfect .

Your engine looks similar to a 30cc John Deere trimmer engine I have.I found out that some of John Deere's trimmer engines were made by Kawasaki.Did yours have a small square module on it ? Also have one that is made into an r/c boat engine with water cooled cylinder ,lightened and balanced flywheel and is modded.

Yes, the small module si under the crankcase, but I d'ont think that's the same engine, I mean not a TG, maybe a TD or else.
The crankcase, the coil, even the carb mount look different.
What size is your engine ?

On my engine the coil is not hold by the cylinder, but yes the design is very similar may be a subcontractor provides that part to kawasaki or john deere like gilardoni in italy which provides cylinder for motorbikes or chainsaws...
I will be happy to fit a walbro carb, the tk1 is really old school and hard to tune perfectly, but impossible with the kawasaki mount
