F-4 Phantom 1/8 scale Scratch Built

It’s true about balsa, though I think you guys over there more than us at this time. Many of the wind turbines use balsa in the composite blades and each blade would build hundreds of models

Turbine Position,
When I started the project, I wasn't sure if I will locate turbine to the end of Fuselage, means no "Tail Pipe", or to help the CG I move it forward. This is why I made a mount long enough to be able to position turbine eater way.
I conclude to move forward turbines, which means have two turbines about 20cm closer to CG, means I would need to instal two tail pipe. Now that I wont need engine mount in far back position, I cut them and I saved 65 gram, which is almost as same as one of tail pipes :-)),

Building up belly, top of turbines to middle of wing,
As I have one pice wings, it meant formers have cut from middle to accommodate wing in middle of fuselage. Therefore, I need to build up belly shapes using small lower part of formers by attaching & gluing them below the wing:

Will you be adding braces, to replace the former sections you removed, to maintain fuselage stiffness?
Lovely timberwork.
Fortunately I'm on the other side of a scratch build, mine's in primer & ready to test fly.

I'm building an Aermacchi 339. Link to the second last page, you can work your way back from there.

A project that's taken far too long due to interest starting & stopping a few times.
Current status - ready to test fly in primer.

In take & Belly
Hello Again,
More rain, more time for sanding balsa :-)),
Taking off from grass, means more grass cuts (sometimes wet) into the in takes, so I decided to do planking for inside the formers as per photos.
Also, having one pice wings, part of Belly needs to build up and glued to bottom of the wing, so this part is finished too.
I used 25gram fibreglass for wings as well as fuselage, however, Dave (Wilshere), advised me to have two layers of fibre glass on belly, so I did so. So, if one day landing gears decided not opening and cause a belly landing, belly can handle it :-))

Hope you are doing well,
I was going trough a thread you started as "Skymaster 1/6 scale F4". There was some suggestion that Skymaster F-4 was in need for more power, while It was flown by 2 p100, or single K-210. So I thought maybe my choice to have 2 Xicoy x45, wouldn't be enough?!!
That sky master was 63lb on take off though, I believe my project would be 17lb dry& almost 20lb ready to take off (1/8 Scale). And two Xicoy also deliver 20lb trust
You mentioned you have flown many different F-4s, what do you think? Do you think two Xicoy X45, would deliver enough Power?
Dave (Wilshere) suggesting maybe I wont achieve 17lb dry, so Imagine if I end up, let say 20lb dry and 23lb ready to take off, what about this situation? do you think 20lb trust is still enough?
Thanks,
Javad,

If I don't mistake, you mean small version of SM F4 weights 40lbs, yes?
The one I mentioned 63lb ready to fly is the large one, 1/6 scale, which is very big,

My Feedback: (1)
If you get weight in the 20-22 pound range you should be good. I would not put tons of stuff under the wings until you see how it goes
Keep up the great work!!

They make three sizes. The one Buck and I fly are the middle one. The 1/6 you mentioned does weight 63 but they are flying those with twin 160 to twin 200

Hi Kevine,
Thanks, I try my best to keep weight low, I just hope to escape from lead on nose :-),
Javad,
