Bob, if you install a nitro/glow engine you will be adding up to or more than 16 ounces of lead weight. That was the main reasons I went with the heavier Saito gas engine, less dead weight to achieve...

Hello copelab; I balanced the Spitfire IAW the manual recommendation at 4-1/8". It took 154 grams (5-1/2ounces) of lead to achieve 4-1/8" balance point. See attached photo for lead weights attachment...

The retracts are Robart # 605 with the wire legs...

The retracts are Robart # 605 with the wire legs removed and replaced with Robart # 650 3/8 diameter straight struts, see attached link.
