RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
Actually, I spoke with our factory team yesterday. They are sending me a few pictures of the assembly process. Keep in mind we have two other exclusive products being manufactured at the same time. A Bell 407 heli and a ducted fan 747.
During the building process of buildingthe FMour guys came up with a few ideas. We don't know how well it will work but after the first FM's off the line we are going to produce a vacum formed fiberglass fuse for the FM. Will it hold up? I have no clue but Don will be the best test. Discussing it for months won't give usany results so I told the guysto make one. Ifthe fiberglass FM is a success we will offer the aircraft in both forms. TO be honest about it. THe fiberglass model would come in a little cheaper.
Our new website will launch in the next 45 daysand I have to have these aircraft produced, shipped, and ready for sale prior to the website going live.
I will post the pictures they send me on the FM production. Normally we wouldn't do that but I think everyone deserves to be involved with this one. You guys have waited far too long andyou should all havea front row seat asfar as I am concerned.
I should have pics today or tonight and will get them up ASAP. More to come.

Fred,
Thanks for the update! Future progress updates would be greatly appreciated.
After the East RC fiasco, I hope you can understand why a lot of us here on the FM thread are still somewhat leery of getting our hopes up again for a Flying Machine ARF.
On the other hand, it sounds like you know exactly what you are doing when it comes down to getting the Flying Machine ARF out on the market within the next 45 days. When the website and the FM ARFs are ready, I will definitely order one.......maybe even two.
The official Flying Machine ARF Countdown Clock is now at:
T minus 45 days

I don't think we should fault East RC for the FM production problems. They have other business ventures that are there bread and butter that needs most of their attention. It just so happend that they ran into so many problems manufacturing it through sources not in their control (plus the huge economy shift)that they had to safeguard their current company by putting the FM on the back burner.
They are good guys and most likley produced the FM at a later date but we (Condor Hobbies) thought the FM would be a great signature aircraft. I appreceate Don M. and Don H. allowing us to move this forward. Actually, our production time was almost cut in half from the efforts of East RC and the prototype they delivered.
My guys in China are just waking up so I am going to see what pics they will send me so I can get them up on the forum.

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
Kind of jumping in here mid-steam, but have they determined a price on the FM? The only reason I'm asking is that I am a vet on disability and would like to know if it is even fesible for me to start saving for one being that is the only way I can hopefully get one. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is within reason as it seems that the price on most of the nice ones out there are way out of my reach. Thanks for any info that you can provide. Joe

We will produce the ZAP for sure. We are looking at a Condor model, Jack Daniels, and a few others. The aircraft will come in two or three colors with decal kits to choose from.

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
I would like to see you offer a "reverse" ZAP scheme.............put the black color in the logo, and make the base color of the FM...ZAP Lime Green!!!
I think reversing those colors would really help these older eyes............I would really hate to build a 120 size!!!!!!!
Just a thought, what do you guys think???
Anybody out there with a usable paint program and can post some different color scheme's here!!!

RE: Don Muddiman Flying Machine
ok, so here is my registration for the color scheme contest.
I am pre-registered for the ARF, of course
I beleive this was close to the "red" test scheme when the FM first came out.
I did it this way just because Red is my Favorite......not much different than the "Stock" scheme, but hey, It looks good!
Game on!
