Is there a trick to easily putting the canopy/ top cover on the 2m and larger Rebels? I have the Hot and it can be difficult but my new 2m seems almost a struggle!
What am I doing wrong? !!

Just takes practice, I agree it’s a PIA, but you will get better at it over time.

Don't see any graphics for the Rebel, just fighter jets..
With that Caymen scheme why do you need graphics!!!

You have to send email and ask for them. I could not find them on the website either.

I ordered the graphics for my Red Launch scheme, may she rest in peace, not my Yellow Cayman scheme.

Take a scuff board ( ladies nail file) and sand a slight bevel onto the lowest edge of the hooks. This helps lead then into the slots.
Work particularly on the end tip, lowest point, thinning this like a trailing edge.

My Hot I can put on one handed, the larger 2m has more flex so it needs two hands, but this will make a huge difference.
You can also make the fuselage slots have a very slight lead in by removing the sharp edges either side.

Can someone offer up some nice conservative control throws for the 2m? Looking for smooth pattern type flying with long four point and slow rolls.

Gyro or no gyro?

Its not a sensitive airframe even at larger control throws.

Ailerons 12 up 13mm down Expo 30%
Elevator 20 up down Expo 28
Rudder max 45-50mm from memory expo 10%
You need to adjust to your thumbs once yiu have flown it.

To bump the topic to front page after a while...

I am in process of picking the servos for my Classic. It will be powered by an X120 or hopefuly X132 should it arrive on time.
What servos do you use? I am looking at Savox, MKS or KST.
You are sincerely welcome with other suggestions.

I also wait for the classic 2m Rebel, and i will be using MKS HV 9930 except for the steering.
Been using these in my Rebel Pro and had no issues with centring, smoothness or power.
I have heard the KST are also good servos and a couple dollar less than MKS.

I am using Promodler DS360DLHV. They are quiet, strong and reliable.

I used Torq servos in my first Rebel, they were powerful, quiet, and excellent centering, but they cost as much as MKS and one of them exhibited some strange behavior when powering the on, it would fully deflect and then slowly return to center. I had a spare servo so I replaced it with an identical servo and behavior stopped, so I’m pretty sure there is something wrong with that servo. I’m using Savox in my current Rebel and they are still working well after 25 flights.

Promodeler servos have lovers and haters, with great prejudice. I've used them in a 2M Rebel, which I sold, but I know the new owner had good success with them. I used them in other airplanes with good success.
MKS servos seem to be the smoothest of all I tried. I had one fail out of the box, but getting it replaced was no issue.
Small Savox servos kinda suck, but their full sized ones are bullet proof. I use them in RC car bashers and never had one give up.
Futaba, JR and Hitec have very good servos. The aerobatic and 3D guys love the JR's. Futaba servos are so expense that they better be great - the ones I have used are very good. Of all the choices here, hasn't Futaba been at it the longest time?
I like brushless servos because they are the most energy efficient. I think if they burn up, the motor still spins free - unlike coreless, which locks up.

I have Torq/KST servo's in all my jets big and small. They work great and I have never had a problem.

The 3D and Imac pilot who used them are sponsored , JR has had major with the servo not properly centering and then over load the motor and you get white smoke and a very hot servo.
Had three 8911K2 burn up without any load, only good now is nose steering and guys who have used JR won't buy them because of this issue.
June from JR USA knows this, and the company refuses to address the issue and just ignores the problem, very sad.
So i have three 8911K2 brushless if anyone is interested!

I like them because of the way they are constructed. The ones I've used work and have not failed. They seem to find the same center point every time. My battery usage is not excessive, it is about the same as other servos use. I have had a drive train fail or wear out.
I say haters, because I started a thread over at RCG and a people let me know. There is a thread of haters at Flying Giants too. Not everyone had my success.

The rep, John Beech is often super helpful and sometimes a bit abrasive - I don't know why and that don't bother me. He is the RC side rep and all the work is done by qualified tech's. They sell way more servos to commercial and military drone market than to the RC market. We are tiny compared to their other customers.

Good to hear positive feedback on the Promodele servo, I'm going to use them in my next big jet.
They have to be very good if the military uses them and the centring of the servos hs to stay true, if very improtant when flying aerobatics of any type .
I have a bunch of mks 599 using them for seven years and now one of them is sounding like gravel is being run through the gear like replace with it the 630 oz Promodel servo brushless.

Thank you all for good suggestions. I am leaning towards MKS HV9930 or HBL599 for ail/ele/rud and Savox SV-1270TG+ for flaps.
Dont know what to do with the steering just yet but no rush - will use electron ER40 set with gyro.
