Let us know how the construction/finish looks when you get it, compared to the original Pirotti model... I had run into an "issue" with mine ( ) - wouldn't mind getting a replacement. I was very happy with a 100 sized Rabbit in mine.

Did you order from Comp-arf? I have an order in from them as well, but the container supposedly just shipped last week.

Looking at the size and weight of the original Rebel 2m, I had always thought it was a ‘140’ size jet?

Different strokes I guess, but I'm with you. I put a 170 in my 2.2m Predator and am putting an 85 in my Rebel HOT.

The Original from Pirotti was designed on the 100-120 range, airframe size is about the same of an ultraflash and I’ve sean many of them performing great with a 100 size turbine...

My mistake.
I just saw on the CompARF site that the rails are designed for 100-140
Strange but I don’t recall seeing any dimensions or weight for the plane on the CARF site.

As I don’t have paved runway access and fly from grass, I would likely go with the 140, just for takeoff roll.

in your case you might want to go big with a 140, I fly at pavel runway so no need to go that big... also I spoke with Pirotti at JP and he said that a 100 is more than good... but as always there is plenty of individual circumstances when choosing the right power-plant

Ron,

Let me correct the typo in your post

"...I had run into an "issue" tree with mine ( ) - wouldn't mind getting a replacement...".

Yes, Issue = tree. An evil tree at that, dropping all it's leaves so it would think I wouldn't see it. The evil trick worked!
Still interested in a comparison of Pirotti build versus CompARF build when possible.

I have been flying mine (Pirotti version) with a Cheetah 160 for a couple years. It's a lot of turbine for this model. If I had to do it over again I would go with a 140 or maybe a 100. I rarely use full throttle, the plane is really light.

The Rebel’s arrived last week and today we maiden them, very easy build no hidden staff, just a joy to work on them, ours are not PNP....
install is preatty simple and my final set up is savox1270 Servos- Jeti Rex12 rx -Jeti DSM10 mag switch with an R3 Rsw for remote power -02 Jeti Liion 2600 mAH Batt- electron retracts-Kingtech K120G2 w/ 2100 Liffe Batterie and of course a Cortex Pro Gyro!
The plane is really light and the 120 is more than enoght, the other one is exactly the same but with a KT100, it also performs really well, almost no difference between them .
As all my carf planes, the maiden went superb, just one aileron click and it was flying on rails, on the second flight we adjusted the CortexPro Gyro and that was it... 7 uneventful flights!! i can’t wait to get to the field tomorrow to get some more flights on it...

Hello, I have ordered a CARF Rebel and I would like to install an Electron retract gear, Could you tell me if is it the same set as for Pirotti Rebel.
Can I install Electron without any modifications on the plane?

Thanks.

hi, I ended up using 1270’s HV as I didn’t have a regulator in hand but a friend of mine built his with 1256 and liffe batteries and it’s running great...

Default Question!

Hi guys,

a question:

I see the wingbag set mentioned under “replacement parts” on the carf website.

Does this mean it included in the kit?

Thanks!

Do you have more pictures of your build for this plane? Fuel tank installation, servos,...
Thanks.

I've been reading the Pirrotti version thread and it seemed to be coming out around 11.7-12kg with full UAT. For its size that is very light, but for power, I would not go any less than a 140, even if I don't put smoke in it(which I likely wouldn't.
I own a Rebel HOT. I only have 4 flights on it but it is just a phenomenal flying and landing jet! But with an 85n turbine, I will admit that it disappears pretty fast. So I am thinking this Rebel, built light with a 140 in it, would be the ultimate short jet for me.
I'm between this and the T1. It appears they will be similarly priced but the T1 will definitely be heavier, and I already know the Rebel flies awesome. I also prefer paint in the mold due to lighter weight and no raised paint lines.
