So, I take it that it all depends on size and scale as to where to look?

I mean, eBay has more sellers and a wider selection.

They have tons, but it's almost impossible to find anything close to WWII combat tread. These aren't too bad, but pricey and probably too big.

Also the stock tire is very tall walled. The wheel OD is pretty small.

I saw on that site ( can't remember the name) that produces 3-D parts and other things. Anyway, they had a US army truck tire. I was wondering if you could get that liquid rubber mix and use that tire as a mold would you be able to produce a tire?

OK, I've got two different voltages on the batteries in the trucks. Any ideas what's up with this?

Sorry, I can't figure out why it's posting a link to the video instead of the video itself.

THIS is weird (thanks for pointing this out) as I just looked myself too! Instructions sent with the battery confirm the difference... one 4.8V the other, 6V.

Too weird but maybe the battery will only charge up to 4.8?

Between Sept. 22 and Oct. 31 is the second estimated delivery date I got. I will behave with patience and understanding until Oct. 31st before I unleash fire and fury like the world has never seen.

For now, I have started my Morris C8 Quad with a limber and 17 pdr, and am thinking about a CMP Otter. There are hundreds of Recce cars that could be adapted to the rock crawler frame and I wanna do all of them. I might talk myself into buying 2 or 3 more from Gearbest.

Same here. The one from Gearbest has a 6v/5 cell battery, the one from Pro RC Store has a 4.8v/4 cell battery. Hmmmm!

I noticed it because of my charger (the one I've been praising in that other thread). I have the truck battery in memory but when I tried to just "plug and go" the charger alarmed and wouldn't start. Took me a second to figger out that I set the memory program for 4 cell 4.8 volt but I was now trying to charge a 5 cell 6 volt battery. Once I changed it to 5 cell it started right up and shot the juice to 'er. I think it's very cool that the charger can do that.

I meant to mention that cell count too. LOL! Too weird.

I guess it's like from "Mr. Mom"

I finally got a reply to my emails about my Ebay rock crawler.

It was delivered to my front door on Sept. 30.

I did not receive a delivery notice of any kind, and never got it. Nothing in my neighborhood has ever been stolen so I don't know what to think. Any suggestions on what to do besides kiss $55 goodbye?

AA cells have 1.2 volts. RX working voltages can range between 4.8 and 6V. Guessing it's just a difference on the sale price of the batteries at the time of packaging or placement of order from the distributor or maybe even the 8yr old that's packing these things up just has two 5 gallon buckets of batteries and it depends which bucket is closest that day. Pretty interesting though. You'll get higher response with the 6V but probably shorter run times and may burn out the steering motor quicker.

Wouldn't surprise me if the ESC doesn't have a BEC so they're running voltage straight to the RX.

Forgot about AFV. Pricey for sure but nice stuff for possible tire options.

Do we have a winner? For jeeps, maybe. Too small for a truck. The street tires on my 1/16 highway 61 truck are 66mm outside diameter.

Cooper Cross Country 7.03 Vollreifen

Hopefully the other side doesn't say cooper cross country. If so, I suppose you could shave it.

Still about the closest I've seen for combat tread.

Still the closest I've seen on hand are the traxxas 1/16 slash tires. Still won't work though due to wpl wheel size. May have to look into different wheels which means different hubs, which means changing the whole drive train. Again this for practical running tires, not scale military.

Also been experimenting on the leaf springs to lighten them up a bit by scalloping them. Little better suspension response without the needed weight to get the axles to liven up.

I ran across this on a Google search and just bought one just for fun from Gearbest --- 1/18 scale 6X6 --- $40 --- about 15 by 7 by 7 inches.

This critter has got possibilities (I hope).
