At such a cheap price you almost HAVE to get one, maybe two. Even though they are a toy, I had a great time modding mine last night and I'm sure I'll end up doing more to it. Today I'm going to start painting and weathering the one I got running.

I see at least three or four more in my future. I just put in the servo and tried the Temper electronics. Mixed results.

Yeah, definitely doesn't have a low enough minimum throttle.

Did some more messing around with the truck, found some fenders that might work for the rear, and at the end of the second video I kinda found a very simple trick to make servo installation much easier.

Good idea, Greg, but I've got a bunch of styrene tube in different sizes so I'll start there. Whenever I go to the LHS I try to pick up some small item I know I'll need later, and one of my favorites are those assortment packs from evergreen. They've got them for tube, rod, square stock, and a bunch of different sheet assortments.

Yeah, I still need two more, but I'm hoping they'll stay cheap for another three or four weeks. So far my list is, 1 SS-100, 1 Ambulance, 1 stock body with canvas top and detailing, like window glass and a driver, 1 tanker of some kind, maybe water with a water buffalo trailer, and maybe one command vehicle with a box in the rear and plenty of antennae. That's five, and I have three so far. I might do a ten wheeler, but I kinda want to wait for the 6x6 to come out before I do that. I also ordered the 6x6 crawler that I want to make into a 6 wheeled tow vehicle for a PAK.

Think I found a driver for one. I have one more of these figures, too.

When the 6x6 comes out I really want a scammell they look so mean. Somebody could make a killing with a 3d printer making bodies for these things.

Except it takes hours to print and an order through Shapeways would be well north of $150 for a body.

Looks great, Greg, and that's almost exactly what I have planned for one of mine, but with a curved hoop without the point at the top.

What else have you got planned for this one, Greg? I'm thinking an easy mod that packs a punch might be replacing the molded on front tow hooks with better pieces, and maybe making the tail lights functional. I also want to either get rid of the lights on the front fenders or make them functional, and wouldn't it be cool if that winch on the front actually worked? I need more drivers, too. I have two but that's not enough. I wonder if the 1/18 soldiers, like forces of valor, would be OK. Not as good as a nice resin figure, but maybe good enough for the girls we go out with.

Definitely do the Wrecker, Greg. The stock tires will work, just stretch one and add an axle. I can't wait for the 6x6 to come out!

Something went wrong with that reference site --- Lemme try again. I Googled a Hanomag SS 100 search for images.
