Loaded up with some Value Gear and did a quick black wash to dirty it up. Exploring axle and transmission upgrade options, she needs more torque!

Thanks, Rex, I found it from the first one by doing exactly what you said, scrolling down to the SS-100. Seems the military version was the SS-55? And this is the first time I've seen the two door cab. That's very interesting. Of course, every photo of the SS100 I've seen pulling a V-2 has been the four door, so we'll stick with that.

Crius--- I guess when you get done with your SS-100 you will also be building these other vehicles to complete your V-2 launch site ---- right?

You're just full of surprises, Rex. I know I have to build the trailer (I also know a guy named Rex that's already built one and he's gonna be a valuable source), and I thought their was an Sd.Kfz.251 Command vehicle, but this is the first I'm seeing of the wonderfully monstrous contraption in that photo! It's on now!

Do you think we can start with a Panzer IV? The fenders look P4, but the idler looks smaller, more like a P3, and the tracks are definitely standard German halftracks tracks. Asiatam makes those, but you know Asiatam, break the bank and rob the corner store. I have to find more photos of that thing. From here on out, till the end of time itself, that thing will always be (in my mind), "The Conehead Tank".

Think I could cheat and do this one?

This could be done on a famo, don't you think? I'm gonna have to sell the Hetzer to pay for this freakin' convoy.

Man, the more I look at that photo the more I expect Dan Akroyd and Jane Curtin to pop out with cones buffed to a high shine and invite me to consume mass quantities.

Those steps look a thousand times better, Greg. For me this is one of the best parts of the hobby, finding those little details that make all the difference.

I was checkin' out your guard shacks. If we get Derek to make another run I'll have you send one over. Shipping would cost more than the shack, so I'm content to wait, but earmark one for me, Bud.

Crius --- Ya gotta do a Google search for --- V2 Meillerwagen images --- It has the best info I have seen so far.

You could build a diorama of the launch site in your back yard.

Wow, it's amazing what a difference that made. It looked good before, but now it looks even better. And I like that material. Kind of semi gloss and it looks very realistic. What is it?

It's a bit smaller that I thought it would be, and the steering barely works on the one I got. I set the trailer on the bed, and it will pull it. It barely pulls the plastic Pershing, and won't even move the Taigen Sherman lol. Though, it might just be the battery is not fully charged. I'll try it again after I charge it up.

I don't think it will work for the Bruder conversion though. Which is OK with me, since it looks good with the rest of my toys lol.

One of the first things I did was make an adapter so I could use a real battery charger.

I went 2S LiPo after swapping in the new electronics and it made quite a difference. Still would like more torque though.

Probably not Rex, unless you have young kids or a German buddy into r/c (I have both) Bruder is still kind of a boutique toy here in the states. Also some may think their price point is a bit high for the casual toy under the tree for a 3yr old. Been using bruder stuff for years just cause of the scale. I look over their website and occasionally order parts from them as their parts section is awesome just to navigate. Look at 3000toys.com for sales.

That's why I bought mine used off of ebay. There was a bit of light wear, but it's hard to notice unless you're looking for it.

Also Rex, the Bruder stuff is real big in the r/c truck and construction scene since it's close to the tammy 1/14 stuff. Lot of guys convert the Bruder excavators, dozers, dump trucks, etc.
For example here's a tammy globe liner I chopped and put a Bruder mack cab and Bruder dump box on for the kids to goof with.
