I have 4 trucks --- 3 with different problems like everyone else. The one in the box still is good. I keep telling myself it ain't Tamiya. or even HL, it's a $30 re$toration project.

I can nether confirm or deny I had anything to do with this.....besides in my defence, I should have pushed for a command car...

Stay focused guys, one at a time, steady as she goes. We are all counting on you. No pressure, but we need you to get this right.

Just kidding, its all for fun

CCKW progress:

Might have to cheat on the axle width a little, as the Duce has a very narrow track for such a big truck...

I'd be interested to see the rear axle mountings and what the rear axle center distances are when you get it, John. I'm thinking about using Flexible PLA for the CCKW's rear leaf spring assemblies, but I don't have a solution for the drive between the rear wheels that's going to be short enough yet...

The ambulance is done!
(I'll let Frank make the canvas roof and drivers doors...)

Back on with the CCKW tomorrow - I have gotten the wheels to where I'm happy with them at least:

Anyone try these yet to beef up their trucks?

There's a guy on RCTW that bought a pair for a Hanomag SS100 he's 3D printing, but I don't think he's gotten as far as road tests. I thought about them for the WC51, but it's so light I'll probably just put in the metal gears.

Well, I took my differentials apart again and this time glued the white nylon bevel gears to the axles with gorilla epoxy. I thought it would hold good. Well, the truck drove about 4 inches and started screaming and stopped moving. The gears are still spinning on the shafts. What a terrible design. What happened I think was my kid rand into stuff and kept the throttle going and that made the gear loose on the shaft. It only took him 20 minutes to ruin the truck. Truthfully, these trucks are POS in their design. An adult can be careful enough not to run into things or get them stuck but as soon as you do you spin that gear loose on the shaft.
Maybe those metal axles will be a better design but being they are china stuff, probably not much better.

Not a whole lot of visible progress, but the cab is about done - just a couple more tweaks to provide location points to attach it to the frame rails.

I've put about 8 hours into the model over the last 2 nights - not a whole lot to show for it a first glance, but I've done a lot of the small locating features and suspension mounting points:

Martin, you're like a one-man GM plant. I really am in awe.
