Managed to shim the main input shaft on the center drive axle. I did this by cutting an opening on a small lock washer, wedging it in there, and greasing it up.

Now that the pinion has solid contact with the ring gear, the truck can now haul the 11.5 lb tank easy. Though with this kind of weight, I only recommend paved surfaces.

Put a 20 amp ESC and a 7.4 lipo in a JJRC Q60 it's just ridiculously fast. Ordered a pair of two speed gearboxes, one for this, one for the soon to be arriving Ural Comm truck.

That looks great, Martin. You print the box and cab separate? Is the box under 300 mm long? I just got one of those Urals but I ordered RTR and the idjits sent the kit. Frak. I'm probably gonna have to just eat it, too, but I'll eventually make it into a decent truck. Have you had a chance to play with the little pick-up trucks? I just got the C 24 and I like it. Might make it into something remotely similar to an M880. Or maybe a hunting truck, or a tailgater, or something.

The cab is my normal open top job, the box needs to go on a modified rear chassis tho. The box is a touch over 9" long so it will fit on a CR-10 no problem. The models are in the CCKW folder if you want to have a go at one.
I'll probably finish this one up as a Ordinance small arms repair truck based on one I found online in a Paris based collection, but I did also find a set of plans for interior furniture and fittings online that some folks down in Texas had come up with to recreate General Patton's personal command truck, so I might do that one too at some point..

I haven't looked at the pickups yet, tho I will confess to evil thoughts of putting a little figure in the back with an RPG and an emitter... There would be plenty of room for an Ardino based battle circuit under the hood and the cab (unlike my WC55 - no idea where the electronics will go on that one, probably have to make a diorama to hide it all!)

OK, here's the B36 kit. I'm just gonna keep it and put it together. The new soft tires look pretty good, and the axles have brass gears, both ring and pinion. I haven't been having much luck with the das mikro, so i'm gonna order a couple more of the units with the larger speaker. With a truck like the Ural I have plenty of space to hide stuff.

As usual, a clean and well executed install. I missed reference to the name of the sound system? I've got 4 trucks that could use a nice sounding unit like that.
Source would be nice too.
Thanks Gary

This is the sound system

But if you shop around you can find it cheaper.

Almost home on the Q60. A couple more details, like tail lights, and we'll be there. Eleventy-Gazillion projects left to go.

thedonut,

Great looking tires and wheels. Can you recommend a good SLA printer, which one are you using?

The tires rims are stock. I just ordered a resin printer but it's still not here yet. I'll keep you posted.

I use a Peopoly Moai. For the wheels, I used Peopoly's regular gray resin. For the tires, I used black Photocentric UV Flexible resin.
